It has already been a busy offseason for New York Islanders general manager Garth Snow. Slotted with fifth overall pick in the 2014 NHL Draft, Snow was faced with the tough decision of whether to give the Buffalo Sabres their 2014 first round pick or their 2015 first round pick as a result of the Thomas Vanek trade.

The New York Islanders got a glimpse of their future at the end of the 2013-14 NHL season. Decimated with injuries, the Islanders had many rookies in their lineup by the end of the year, including Anders Lee and Ryan Strome.

The New York Islanders have amassed a very deep and talented prospect pool. Their patient approach over the last few years has created a solid foundation and should pay dividends down the road.

The New York Islanders have built an impressive pool of prospects at the professional level. The team has done fairly well at the NHL Draft over the past several years and has found a lot of good talent in the middle and later rounds.
