History
Atlanta's 8th round, 230th overall in the 2002 Entry Draft.
Fretter played four years at Michigan State, with an exceptionally good year as a junior in 2004-05 -- 20 goals and 24 assists in 44 games. His senior year he had 29 points, with the same linemates, though he didn't play on the power play.
The Thrashers chose not to give him an NHL contract upon graduation, but asked him to sign with their AHL affiliate instead.
