History

Travis went the route of the USHSE, playing the 2002-03 season with Deerfield Academy and putting up decent offensive numbers in the league (16-27-43 in 25 games), while his team won the New England Championship. At the end of the season he was picked by the Panthers in the fifth round, 141st overall, in the 2003 Entry Draft.

The right winger attended New Hampshire (NCAA) in the 2003-04 season but only got into 14 games due to an extremely deep squad.

Round 5 #141 overall  2003 NHL Entry Draft by Florida

Did not play in 2005-06.

Talent Analysis

At 6’3 and 210 pounds, Travis has the body to become a power forward, now he just needs his offensive skills to develop to fit his body, although only collecting a single minor penalty in his freshman season indicates he picks his times to be overtly physical. Travis is going to have to get into more games against opposition in the NCAA to show if he can be a physical force at this level.

Travis a big kid who is a decent skater, opportunistic in that he'll put a shot on net if the opportunity presents itself. He also possesses good passing skills.

Future

Travis probably has fourth line potential with an ultimate upside of a third line player, but is a very long way from there at this point.
