History

2003-04: In November 2003, Turple was traded from Kingston to Oshawa. Turple won the Molson Three Star award in Oshawa in 2003-04. In the playoffs, he played all seven games for the Generals, posting a 2.57 GAA with one shutout, and a .922 save percentage.

2005-06: Turple was the best goaltender in the OHL for Kitchener -- his.924 save percentage led the league as did his 2.25 GAA and seven shutouts.  In Kitchener, he benefited from having Matt Lashoff (BOS) and the Thrashers' own Boris Valabik on the blue line in front of him.

2006-07: Turple signed a rookie contract in 2006 and was assigned to the ECHL Gwinnett Gladiators. He had the worst save percentage in the ECHL (minimum 1440 minutes played), with .879, and the third-worst GAA at 3.77 in the regular season. Turple played just one out of four games in the playoffs, an overtime loss.

Talent Analysis

Turple takes up a lot of net at 6'5 and has good quickness. He does not follow the puck or the play very well, however. This flaw will be hard to overcome.  He could also do better recovering his focus after goals are scored.

Future

Turple will likely see another year in the ECHL in 2007-08.
