History

After four years in the Ontario Hockey League, Dan Girardi was signed to an AHL contract for the 2005-06 season. After solid play in the AHL, Girardi was signed to a free agent contract by the Rangers prior to the start of the 2006-07 season. After playing very well in Hartford, he got the call-up to the NHL team in late January 2007. Since that time he has become a very solid NHL defenseman.

Talent Analysis

Girardi is a very solid positional player, who has good hockey smarts and can skate. A defense first blueliner, who is not afraid to take the body when he needs to.

Future

Girardi is expected to have a long future in the NHL.
