Daniel Maggio

Prospect Grade: 6.0 C  (About Prospect Grades)

History

2008-09: Scored 16 points in 44 games for Sudbury. Ranked 189th among NA skaters by NHL Central Scouting.

Maggio was a late-round pick due to injuries, but the Rangers had seen him play a strong, physical game.

2009-10: He is currently the OHL Sudbury Wolves leading defenseman in scoring and has a relatively decent plus/minus rating on a team that is under .500.

Talent Analysis

Maggio is a stay-at-home defenseman who is big and likes to throw his weight around. Not really a fighter, Maggio is physical and has a right-handed shot.

Future

Maggio plays well in all situations and could be a surprise addition to the Rangers stable of contracted blueliners in the coming years.
