His 10 shutouts also set a Cornell and ECACHL single season record for most shutouts in a season. He was named Ivy League player of the year and first team all-Ivy, First Team All-ECACHL, ECACHL Player of the Year, and the Ken Dryden award that is awarded to the ECACHL’s top goalie. He was also a First Team All-American and was one of the three "hat trick" finalists for the Hobey Baker Award given to college hockey’s top player.

2005-06: The 2005 Hobey Hat Trick finalist and ECACHL Goaltender of the Year turned in another strong performance in his junior season at Cornell, helping to lead the Big Red to another NCAA Tournament berth. He posted a 22-9-4 record that included three shutouts. His 2.08 goals against average ranked sixth in the nation, while his winning percentage ranked 11th.

During his phenomenal sophomore campaign, McKee rewrote the Cornell goaltending history books, setting new school records for single-season shutouts (10) and career shutouts (15). In his junior season, McKee set a new school record for consecutive games played by goaltender, having appeared in all 112 Cornell games in the last three seasons.
