David Moss

Prospect Grade: 6.5 B  (About Prospect Grades)

History

The Livonia native was selected by the Flames out of high school and committed to the University of Michigan for the following season. There he starred as a rookie alongside Flames 2002 first round selection Eric Nystrom.

The hulking winger bulked up in his junior year at Michigan, adding 10 pounds to his already formidable frame, however he took a step back production wise despite being on the team's second line. Heading into his senior year, Moss and Nystrom are in danger of being outshined by freshman phenom TJ Hensick and the emerging David Rohlfs.

Talent Analysis

Moss does a lot of the dirty work , digging in the corners and making space for his linemates--a clasic Flames prospect. His skill level is not at the top level however, something that became very evident in 2003-04, despite his breakout sophomore year in 2002-03.
