History
After playing for two years in his Slovakian hometown's system, Skokan came to North America for the 2005-06 season. The first round CHL Import Draft selection of the QMJHL Rimouski Oceanic, in his first season in the Q, Skokan performed as a tough guy, accumulating 143 PIM. Rimouski traded for a large number of top skill players in the 2006 QMJHL entry draft, and the team needed something different from Skokan. He responded during the 2006-07 season with solid two-way play--cutting down on his PIM, being an offensive threat and playing more responsibly in his own zone. In Skokan's final QMJHL season, he continued to perform as a responsible two-way player.
Rather play an overage year in Rimouski, Skokan signed an AHL contract for the 2008-09 season. However, prior to the start of the season, Skokan returned to Europe.

"David is a thick, strong center who plays a solid two-way game. He has a nice combo of power and skill."--Jan Gajdosik, NY Rangers Amateur Scout.
Future
Skokan has the potential to be a third-line NHL forward.
