History

After playing for two years in his Slovakian hometowns system, Skokan came to North America for the 2005-06 season. The first round CHL Import Draft selection of the QMJHL Rimouski Oceanic, in his first season in the Q, Skokan performed aas a tough guy, accumulating 143 PIM. After an outstanding  2006 entry draft, the team needed something different  during the 2006-07 season,  solid two-way play, and Skokan provided that for the team, cutting down on his PIM, being an offenisve threat and playing more responsibly in his own zone.

Talent Analysis

Skokan "is a two-way center that has good hockey strength. He has the courage to play in traffic, he competes hard, and gives a good second effort."  Christer Rockstrom,  NY Rangers Director of Player  Personnel--Europe.

"David is a thick, strong center who plays a solid two-way game. He has a nice combo of power and skill."--Jan Gajdosik, NY Rangers Amateur Scout.

Future

Skokan has the potential to become a third-line NHL center.
