History
Younger brother of Jonathan Toews.
2007-08: Toews played for Shattuck-St. Mary’s High School in Minnesota last season. He recorded 100 points (44+56) in 51 games. He tied for the team lead in goals and ranked third in assists and second in points. He singed a Letter of Intent to attend the University of North Dakota (WCHA) in the fall of 2008.
2008-09: Toews had a respectable first year at the powerhouse University of North Dakota as a true freshman. There was not a lot of pressure with the quality veterans they had. This allowed Coach Dave Hakstol to move guys along naturally and patiently and it paid off.
