Yachmenev is a product of Chelyabinsk, Russia. Drafted in the 1st round of the 2001 Import draft, he has came to North Bay with high expectations. His older brother Vitaly Yachmenev is a former Centennial and was a star, once lighting the lamp 60 times.

Talent Analysis

Yachmenev is a winger with good size, but minimal grit. He has solid puck skills and is a fluid skater. In order to be successful, he needs to work hard against the boards and close to the net to score his goals. He has been somewhat inconsistent, but has shown flashes of all-around ability.
