Selected by the Saskatoon Blades in the 7th round, 110th overall in the 1999 WHL Bantam Draft. Played 7 games with the Blades in 2000-01 as a 16-year-old rookie.
Played his bantam hockey for the Calgary Triple "AAA" Northstars.
Signed as a free agent by the Calgary Flames in 2005.
Talent Analysis
Couture is a prototypical power forward. He will drops the gloves when need be, can drive with power to the front of the net and will agitate the other teams' top players. He has all the tools to become a pro someday.
