History

2006-07: The forwards junior season with the Bowling Green Falcons (CCHA) was his best so far. In38 games he set career-highs in goals (19), assists (10) and points (29). His 29 PIM was another career-high for Whitmore.

2007-08: Whitmore’s final season with Bowling Green State University (CCHA) was his best points-wise. In 38 games he netted a career-high 27 goals and 37 points, while racking up a career-high 33 penalty minutes. He was also nominated to the CCHA All-Star Second Team. He finished his collegiate career with 70 goals and 32 assists in 143 games. He also saw his first bit of pro hockey, netting a goal in eight games.

2008-09: In his first full season of AHL hockey, Whitmore netted 11 goals and as many assists in 77 games with Portland. While he has yet to see NHL action, he’s a staple with the Pirates and will be there for the 2009-10 season.

2009-10: Whitmore would return for a second compaign with Portland; good for 18 goals and 34 points.

Talent Analysis

Whitmore is a leader who served as a captain at BGSU.  He has shown a nice scoring touch and a willingess to sacrifice his body.

Playing for Portland in the AHL.
