History
Utkin played for Yaroslal in the Russian Jr. League in 2001-02. He scored 15 goals and assisted on seven others.
Talent Analysis
All reports say Utkin has blazing speed, quick accelation, and goal scoring ability. He is undersized at 6'0 and 170. Bruin scout Yuri Karmanov gave this evaluation of Dmitri "He has great hockey sense and is offensive minded. He has a high level of skill and is very good in heavy traffic. He is not afraid to go into the corners and usually comes out with the puck. Every time he has the puck he is dangerous. He's a good two-way player an effortless skater and has explosive breakaway speed."
Future
Utkin needs work in the weight room and get his weight up to 190-200. The Bruins feel Utkin is already an elite skater and scorer. He will join Yaroslavl of the Russian Elite League which has an excellent development program and is a very strong team.
