History

2006-07: In 61 games, Bowman scored 24 goals and 19 assists for a Chiefs team that made its first playoff appearance in three years.  The 6', 185-pound forward is a native of Littleton, Colorado and has become a dependable and durable forward in Spokane.  During his rookie season, he played in all 72 games, collecting 34 points. His offensive output is headed in the right direction and will be valuable to the Chiefs as they graduate veteran forward Adam Hobson to the Chicago Blackhawks.

2007-08: Carolina’s brass noticed Bowman had NHL potential at the team’s camps before the 2007 season, with some saying Bowman’s shot was better than some of the NHLers in attendance. That was seemingly a sign of things to come. Bowman stormed out of the gate, putting himself among the WHL’s leaders in goals and scoring. While his pace slowed somewhat, he still finished the season with 42 goals and 40 assists in the regular season and another 20 points (11 goals and nine assists) in Spokane’s run to the Memorial Cup. His growth as a player and a leader surely bodes well for his future.

Talent Analysis

Bowman is a speedy forward with offensive upside.

Future

Bowman signed his entry-level contract following the 2007-08 season, and will get an opportunity to make the Hurricanes for the 2008-09 season. But with the forward ranks swelled with talent, Bowman will likely return to Spokane to help the Chiefs defend their Memorial Cup title.
