History

2006-07: He tallied only four points (two goals, two assists) in 63 games with the Saskatoon Blades last season. He is best known as one of the better up-and-coming fighters in the WHL. A towering physical specimen, Klotz finished third on the Blades with 107 PIMs, a number that is expected to go up considerably in 2007-08.

2007-08: Klotz was drafted by the Flyers in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft and attended the team’s summer rookie camp and fall training camp. He totaled four points with 92 PIM in 52 games for Saskatoon (WHL).

2008-09: Klotz played in 36 games with the Phantoms, registering 59 penalty minutes. He had nine fights on the season.

2009-10: Back with Adirondack, Klotz continued his fierce play with 94 penalty minutes; 14 fights total on the season.

Talent Analysis

Klotz is by no means an offensive prospect. His pro chances will rest on the evolution of the role of the enforcer in the NHL, as much as the refinement of his own very raw hockey skills.
