History

2004-05: Clitsome enjoyed an outstanding rookie season, leading all Clarkson defensemen in scoring with 13 points (two goals, eleven assists) in 39 appearances. His first collegiate points (two assists) came back on October 9, 2004 versus UMass. His first collegiate goal came just over a week later on October 17 on the game-winner versus Wayne State.

2005-06: Clitsome continued to give Clarkson some offensive production from the blueline and served as the Golden Knights top quarterback on the team’s power play. He was paired with freshman Philippe Paquet (MTL) on Clarkson’s blueline. Clitsome finished second among the team’s defensemen in scoring with 19 points (two goals, 17 assists). His sophomore campaign was cut short due to an arm injury that forced him to miss Clarkson’s ECACHL quarterfinals series versus Cornell.

Talent Analysis

Clitsome is an excellent puck-moving defenseman. While he is known for his offensive prowess, Clitsome is also a very solid defensive player as well. He is very strong on his skates and has good speed. He is very effective one-on-one. Clitsome’s willingness to get physical along with his body strength makes him tough for the opposition to have to play against. One area that Clitsome improved in his sophomore season was shooting the puck more. He has no trouble getting pucks to the net and has an excellent slapshot. Clitsome is blessed with superb passing skills and can make nice tape-to-tape passes. He is also a fierce competitor who can play in virtually any type of situation.

Future

Clitsome will be entering his junior year at Clarkson University this fall.
