History

Signed by the Stars following a good Traverse City Tournament in 2008.

2008-09: Playing his overage year with the QMJHL Quebec Remparts. Monast is wearing an "A" for Quebec after being acquired from Halifax.

2009-10: Monast made his pro debut, appearing in 68 games with the Idaho Steelheads(ECHL). He failed to find the net, but did manage 6 assists.

Talent Analysis
A coveted right-handed shooter, Monast is a strong two-way competitor who is willing to stand up for his teammates, even if it requires dropping the gloves.  The 6'2 defenseman has had a bit of an up and down year, but has largely been a steadying force on the blueline for the Remparts.
