History
Ian Keserich started his young hockey career with Cleveland Barons of the NAHL. In 1998, he won the PeeWee National Championship for the Barons. In 2003, he was a member of the U.S. gold medal winning Under-18 World Championship Team that competed in the Czech Republic. Keserich was also named the Most Valuable Goaltender of the tournament. He started on a positive note for the 2003-04 season before his season was cut short due to a concussion.
7th round (215th overall), 2004 by Colorado
2007-08: Splitting the season between CHL Colorado and Mississippi, Keserich opened the season with Colorado and but was released after just seven appearance on Dec. 18. He signed a five-game contract with Mississippi on Jan. 18 before signing a standard contract on Jan.25. He finished the season with Mississippi 13-7-1 with a .916 SV% and a 2.64 GAA in 21 games.
Talent Analysis
Keserich is a successful butterfly goalie that is able to stay focused. His footwork is exceptional, and he can cover ground effectively. He is a good skater that likes to step up rather than lie back. He is decent at working with the puck.
