Jamie Tardif
History
Tardif had a stellar rookie campaign with the Petes in 2001-02 and built on it in his draft year averaging just over a point per game.
Draft in the 4th round, 112th overall in 2003 by Calgary.
However his numbers, much like those of the rest of his team, suffered in 2003-04 and Tardif took a step back despite finishing second only to rookie LW and Oilers 2004 draft pick Liam Reddox in team scoring.
The most disconcerting part in 2003-04 is his team low -23 rating. After a pair of seasons at +10 or higher Tardiff's +/- plummeted when he took over the role of top center.
Unsigned by Calgary.
Talent Analysis
Tardif is an offensive talent, no doubt about it, as his style can be likened to that of his hero, Brenden Shanahan. The unfortunate thing about Tardiff is that his particular skill set doesn't lend itself well to bottom six duty, so he'll need to find a way to score.
Whether he's able to harness his skills and translated them to the pro level is another thing altogether.
