The Florida Panthers have made the playoffs just twice in the last 16 years. In an effort to make the postseason this year, the Panthers added veterans Dany Heatley and Jaromir Jagr at the trade deadline. Florida Panthers general manager Dale Tallon has been steadily building a team geared for long-term NHL success by building through the NHL Draft, making key trades and signing stop-gap free agents to meet salary needs.

Team Canada didn't get what they came for at the 2014 IIHF U18 World Championship, but they are heading home with some hardware after winning the bronze medal game against Sweden, 3-1. A strong performance in net by Mason McDonald and goals from Brendan Perlini, Lawson Crouse and Travis Konecny were the difference in the game for the Canadians.
