2006-07: Knackstedt began the season with the Red Deer Rebels, where he played 33 games before a mid-December trade sent him to the Moose Jaw Warriors. After the trade, he became a key contributor to the Warriors’ offense, and finished out the season with WHL career-high points and penalty minutes.
2007-08: Playing with Moose Jaw, Knackstedt had a career season offensively, where he led his team in scoring, and was among the top ten in the entire league. He joined the Providence Bruins on an ATO following the WHL postseason.
2008-09: Knackstedt’s first full season with Providence (AHL) resulted in 10 goals and 26 points in 71 games.
Knackstedt is a blend of character, skill and grit; a good sized power forward who can put up points, but isn't afraid to drop the gloves.
