History

2008-09: Bernhardt played in his sixth and final year in the WHL, finishing off his junior career with the Prince Albert Raiders(WHL). He had 92 points in 72 games, good for 35 goals and 57 assists. At the conclusion of the season, the Phoenix Coyotes signed him to an entry-level contract.

2009-10: In his first professional season, Bernhardt played 43 games split between the AHL and ECHL. In the AHL he posted 1 goal and 2 assists in 14 games. In the ECHL, he posted 5 goals, 6 assists in 29 games.

2010-11: Bernhardt skated in 47 of 72 games for the ECHL's Las Vegas Wranglers in his second pro season and scored 6 goals with 19 assists. He was -3 and accumulated 29 PMs. He skated in all five playoff games for the Wranglers and was -1 with 2 assists and 14 PMs.

Despite lacking a lot of depth and talent, the Carolina Hurricanes organization has top-end prospects in the pipeline, including the offensively talented defenseman Ryan Murphy, and a potential rising offensive star in Victor Rask. There are also several good depth defensemen who, in the near future, could solidify the Carolina blue line.

The Chicago Blackhawks prospect pool had plenty of notable performances during the 2012-13 season, particularly at the AHL level, where the Rockford IceHogs went on another late-season run only to come up just short of the playoffs for the third straight season. Many of the club's CHL prospects also had standout seasons, with two Blackhawks prospects still competing for their respective clubs at the 2013 MasterCard Memorial Cup.

The prospect pool for the Philadelphia Flyers is consistently one of the more diminished gatherings of young talent every year, but they rarely miss on top-end talent when given the opportunity to acquire it. Because of their lack of picks and their aggressive style of team-building, it is far more important for the organization to consistently hit on their high draft picks as well as attract some of the better free agent prospects on the market every year.
