This week’s Prospect Faceoff is loaded with powerhouse matchups from around North America. The Ottawa Senators will be interested in the result from a game in Shawinigan this weekend, and scouts from the NHL will be on hand in Fargo as the Lincoln Stars pay them the Fargo Force visit. After a rocky start to the season, the San Jose Sharks have drastically improved their transition play, and now sit a comfortable seven points up on the Arizona Coyotes for the final divisional playoff spot in the Pacific. While the team predominately leans on its veterans, a handful of young prospects have impacted the team this season.

The Barrie Colts are one of the top teams in the OHL’s Eastern Conference. They boast an impressive offense with Kevin Labanc (SJS) leading the league in scoring, and Julius Nattinen (ANA) and Andrew Mangiapane (CGY) providing secondary scoring. The San Jose Sharks have nine players playing in Canadian Junior Hockey during the 2015-16 season, and two playing in the USHL. This group of young players features some of the most promising and intriguing skaters in the prospect pool – including the team’s number one prospect, Timo Meier.
