History

2008-09: Scored 28 points and posted 133 penalty minutes in 60 games with Barrie (OHL).  Was part of Team Canada in the U18 championships.

2009-10: in 58 regular season games with the Barrie Colts of the OHL, KYle Clifford posted 28 goals, 29 assists, and 111 PIM. In 17 playoff games he posted 5 goals and 9 assists. When his junior season was finished he joined the Kings AHL affiliate and appeared in seven post games for them, posting 2 assists in the process.

Talent Analysis
Clifford is a straight ahead player with an edge. Skating is just OK – has heavy feet and needs to make sure he keeps his feet moving to get speed – skating has shown improvement over the season. If straight pass in not available does nice job of advancing pucks. During offensive plays and cycles makes it very difficult for D to contain him with his good size and strength. Responsible in D zone making strong plays getting pucks out. Plays physical style of game looking to finish hits and make contacts. - International Scouting Service
Future
Clifford will play one more season in the OHL before making the transition to the professional game.
