History

2010-11: Luca Hischier played for Bern in Switzerland's U17 Elite Novizen and played for the U16 national team. He scored 12 goals with 16 assists and 10 penalty minutes in 30 regular season games and scored 3 goals with 7 assists and 2 penalty minutes in nine playoff games as Bern won the Elite Novizen championship. Hischier had 4 goals with 8 assists and 10 penalty minutes in 13 games for the Swiss U16 squad.

2011-12: Hischier appeared in eight games with Bern in the Swiss Elite Junior A League and was the leading scorer for the club's U17 team in Elite Novizen. He played two games with Switzerland's U18 team and 10 games with the U17 squad in international play. Hischier scored 1 goal with 1 assist and 2 penalty minutes skating with the Bern U20 squad. He scored 30 goals with 19 assists and had 8 penalty minutes in 28 regular season games and had an assist in his only playoff game with the Bern U17 team. He had no points and was -2 in limited ice time with the Bern men's team. Hischier led Bern with 22 assists and scored 17 goals with 22 penalty minutes in 27 regular season junior games as the team finished second. Bern defeated Lugano in the playoff finals and in 12 playoff games Hischier scored 5 goals with 10 assists and 2 penalty minutes. He was Switzerland's team captain at the 2013 World Junior A Challenge and scored 2 goals with 3 assists. Hischier was ranked 44th amongst European skaters in Central Scouting's final rankings prior to the 2014 NHL Draft.
