History
Teamed with teammate Mason Raymond to form one of the Alberta Junior Hockey League’s most dangerous one-two punches. Sharp tallied 46 points in 40 games, including 20 goals. If he had played the entire season, he likely would have rivaled Raymond’s point totals.
Eligible for the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, unselected.
Talent Analysis
Though possessing similar offensive skills to Raymond, Sharp plays a much more in-your-face style of game. He is tenacious, and when he’s on his game, teams think there’s five of him on the ice. He is an excellent fore-checker, and he has the skating ability to get in on opposing defenses before they can move the puck. He’s an excellent teammate, a good leader, and he is a very competitive player who just loathes losing. The best NHL comparison one might make is the Vancouver Canucks Matt Cooke.
