Selected 56th overall by the Rangers (acquired earlier in the day from the Montreal Canadians for the 45th selection) in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft .

-05: Cliche was hampered by injuries throughout his sophomore campaign with the MAINEiacs. Limited to only 19 games for Lewiston this past season as a result of chronic shoulder problems, Cliche, a slick (if slight) playmaking forward, compiled four goals and four assists, spending time on the second and third lines for Lewiston.

-06: Named Lewiston’s Most Inspirational Player.  Scored 37 goals and 82 points in 66 games.

-07: Part of the first PK unit for Team Canada in the 2007 WJC.  Spent the entire season with Lewiston of the QMJHL, scoring 54 points in 52 games.  While his production was slightly off from the prior season, Cliche increased his role as a solid two-way forward.  He also contributed 22 points in 16 games while leading Lewiston to the QMJHL championship.  Traded to Los Angeles in a trade deadline deal from the New York Rangers.

WJC feature on Cliche.

-08: While he has been greatly limited this season due to injury, even when healthy, Cliche has not been much to look at offensively.  He has maintained his solid defensive play and work in the corners for Manchester throughout.  He lost over 20 games due to injury, finishing with 21 points in 52 games.

-09: An injury in training camp delayed Cliche’s season debut until February 6th. As a result, Cliche never really got going offensively in scoring only 9 points in 31 games.  But defense never experiences a slump and Cliche proved he could contribute to the team gameplan even if not finding the back of the net.

-10: In his third professional season Cliche posted 11 goals and 14 assists in 66 games with the Manchester Monarchs. He also made one appearances in the NHL on March 2nd against the Dallas Stars, logging 14 shifts, 7:23 in ice time, and posting a plus-1.

-11: Cliche skated in 63 games for Manchester (AHL), suffering a season-ending thumb injury in late March. In his fourth season in the Kings’ organization, he scored 14 goals with 21 assists and was +6 with 35 PMs as the Monarchs finished second in the Atlantic Division. Cliche’s thumb injury kept him out of the Monarchs’ first round series with eventual Calder Cup champion Binghamton. He was re-signed as a restricted free agent to a one-year contract by the Kings in July 2011.
