History

2002-03: Pouliot was the lone bright spot on a dismal Rimouski Oceanic team in his draft year. Despite his team only winning two games in the second half of the season, Pouliot still managed 73 points including 32 goals. As captain, he was the natural leader on the Rimouski team both statistically and inspirationally. A member of Canada's 2003 under 18 team, Pouliot had a major impact and saw his stock rise impressively after the tournament having scored 9 points in the 7 games.

2003-04: Injuries kept Pouliot to only 42 games but he still managed to score 58 points.

2004-05: Overshadowed by teammate Sidney Crosby, Pouliot had a terrific season capped off by an appearance in the finals of the Memorial Cup.

2005-06: Pouliot's pro career began in Hamilton with the Bulldogs but he also got into 8 NHL games with Edmonton recording his first career goal.

2006-07: Did not make the Oilers out of camp as expected, Pouliot started slowly on the farm but was dominant in stretches in the AHL.  Saw plenty of action in the second half of the NHL schedule but failed to really establish himself.

2007-08:

Talent Analysis

Pouliot has a wide variety of offensive skills, but his strength is as a playmaker. He is an exceptional passer for his age and good stickhandler.  His skating is fairly average put not really a weakness.  His size and reach are an asset.

Aggressive and with a temper, he takes questionable penalties.  Thus far as a pro, Pouliot has been extremely streaky so needs to develop consistency.
