History
2008-09: Mark Arcobello skated in 34 games for Yale as a junior and was the Bulldogs' leading scorer as Yale captured the ECAC Hockey League regular season and tournament championships. He scored 17 goals with 18 assists and was +19 with 68 PMs. Arcobello was named to the NCAA East Second All American Team and the ECAC First All-Star Team.
2009-10: Arcobello scored 15 goals with 21 assists in 34 games as a senior for Yale as the Bulldogs again finished first in the ECAC Hockey League but were upset by Brown in the conference tournament. The Bulldogs rebounded from their conference tournament loss, defeating North Dakota in the NCAA Tournament. In the final game of his college career, Arcobello scored 3 goals with 3 assists in a 9-7 loss to eventual national champion Boston College in the NCAA Northeast Regional Final.
2010-11: Arcobello joined the AHL's Oklahoma City Barons in late January 2011 after beginning his professional career in the ECHL with the Stockton Thunder. In 26 games with the Barons he scored 11 goals with 11 assists and was +7 with 4 PMs. Arcobello skated in all six playoff games for Oklahoma City and scored 1 goal with 1 assist and was -1. He skated in 33 games for the Thunder and scored 7 goals with 13 assists and was -2 with 10 PMs. Edmonton signed Arcobello to a two-year, entry-level contract in April 2011.
2011-12: Arcobello filled a variety of roles for AHL Oklahoma City in his second pro season and was the Barons' leading scorer in the playoffs. He scored 17 goals with 26 assists and was plus-16 with 28 penalty minutes. Oklahoma City finished first in the West Division and reached the playoff semifinals. Arcobello scored 5 goals with 8 assists and was minus-two with 6 penalty minutes in 14 playoff games.
Talent Analysis
An undersized skill player, Arcobello is feisty enough to hold his own with the big boys. Lacks high end skill as well as elite size or defensive ability.
Future
Arcobello played his way into an entry level deal with the Oilers in 2010-11 but is not likely to have an NHL career. An older prospect after a four-year college career, he has established himself as a solid contributor at the AHL level and that is likely the height of his ability.
