Talent Analysis

McCutcheon is a grinder.  He possesses a great work ethic and who doesn’t seem to mind the physical aspects of the game. He is a very tough player to play against as well as move off of the puck. While McCutcheon is listed at 6’1/195 lbs. he plays much bigger than his size would indicate. One of the best things about watching McCutcheon play is his energy. He’s possesses great body strength and the energy level to match it. He’s a skater that possesses some very good speed and acceleration as well as the ability to drive to the net. He sees the ice very well and is quite good in a defensive capacity as well. He has very good passing skills. The one area where McCutcheon can improve is shooting the puck more often. He has a tendency to want to pass rather than shoot when the opportunity presents itself. He possesses a quick shot as well as long reach.
