History

Pre-draft: Generous captained the New England Jr. Falcons of the EJHL in the 2004-05 season. He was chosen to play for the South squad at the 2005 EJHL All-Star game.

2005-06: A member of the ECACHL All Rookie Team and the winner of the Ronald C. Hoffmann Outstanding First Year Scholar-Athlete Award, Generous had an outstanding rookie season with St. Lawrence. Recovering from an ankle injury, Generous played in 34 straight contests after missing the first six of the year and finished the season with 15 points (4+11). He scored his first collegiate point in his debut with an assist in a win over Union and had his first collegiate multi-point game with a goal and two assists at Yale on Nov. 11.

2006-07: As a sophomore a St. Lawrence U. (ECAC), Generous scored four goals and tallied 15 points and 34 minutes in the penalty box. He finished at a plus-seven and was nominated to the ECAC All-Academic Team.

2007-08:  Despite missing time early on, Generous’ junior season with St. Lawrence (ECAC) was his best yet, seeing the blue-liner net three goals and 15 points in 37 appearances. He again made the ECAC All-Academic Team.

2008-09: This was the defenseman’s final season with St. Lawrence University (ECAC). In 35 games he set career-highs in goals (8) and points (17). He won several honors this season, including being named the ECAC’s Best Defensive Defenseman and an All-American second team nod. He also saw his first bit of pro hockey, appearing in four games with the Portland Pirates (AHL), where he notched the first goal of his professional career.

Talent Analysis

Generous is a hard working player that gets the most out of his ability.  He has a nice shot from the point, and can get around the rink reasonably well.  At this point, he does not project as a starting NHL defenseman, but he may find a niche at the pro level based on his intangibles.

Future

Will continue his development with the Portland Pirates in 2010-11.
