History
Pre-draft: Generous captained the New England Jr. Falcons of the EJHL in the 2004-05 season. He was chosen to play for the South squad at the 2005 EJHL All-Star game.
2005-06: A member of the ECACHL All Rookie Team and the winner of the Ronald C. Hoffmann Outstanding First Year Scholar-Athlete Award, Generous had an outstanding rookie season with St. Lawrence. Recovering from an ankle injury, Generous played in 34 straight contests after missing the first six of the year and finished the season with 15 points (4+11). He scored his first collegiate point in his debut with an assist in a win over Union and had his first collegiate multi-point game with a goal and two assists at Yale on Nov. 11.
2006-07: An ECAC Hockey All Academic team member, Matt Generous had an outstanding season as a blueliner. He played in 37 of 39 games for St. Lawrence and recorded nine points (3+6). He was plus-7 which was second among Saints defensemen.
2007-08: ECAC All Academic for the second straight year, Generous also had a solid season on the ice for St. Lawrence University, recording 15 points (3+12) on the season. He missed four games with an injury early in the season, but played in 29 straight contests to finish out the year. He scored his first goal of the season in a 4-1 win over Providence and had a four-game scoring streak mid-season.
Talent Analysis
Generous is a hard working player that gets the most out of his ability. He has a nice shot from the point, and can get around the rink reasonably well. At this point, he does not project as a starting NHL defenseman, but he may find a niche at the pro level based on his intangibles.

He begins his professional career this next season.
