History

2007-08: Jones led Merrimack (Hockey East) with 15 goals and 124 shots and was second with 22 points and four power-play goals. He scored the first goal on the game a team-high six times and was the Warriors’ lone representative on the Hockey East All-Conference team, earning an honorable mention for his efforts. In seven games with Worcester (AHL), he recorded two goals and an assist. He scored his first professional goal at Lowell on Mar. 29.  Signed by San Jose as a free agent in 2008 after two seasons with Merrimack College.

2008-09: Jones suffered a broken jaw early on in the year and missed significant time. The 23-year-old out of Merrimack has been on the road to recovery since early December. After making a pit stop in with Phoenix Roadrunners of the ECHL, he’s been back with Worcester. He’s still getting his bearings back and is anxious to develop a certain level of confidence and comfort out there.

Talent Analysis

Though he owns the size of a power forward, Jones is a tremendous skater, with added natural goal-scoring ability. Jones has the potential to be a depth player for San Jose.
