Matt Siddall
Prospect Grade: 6.0 D (About Prospect Grades)
History
2006-07: Siddall played on a line with Mike Santorelli (NAS) and Pat Bateman for much of the season. Santorelli was highly ranked in the nation in goals scored per game, so it was a good place for Siddall to put up his best point production at NMU to date. He also saw some power play time. Siddall missed two weeks in January with what was reportedly a concussion.
2004-05: Siddall started as a freshman at Northern Michigan University, playing with Nathan Oystrick.
2003-04: Spent season in the BCHL.
Talent Analysis
Siddall is a solidly built guy, really strong on his skates and good at protecting the puck. He's a good hitter who skates decently. A power forward type player. Good at banging home rebounds, but not a great deal of puck skills.
On the downside, he is known to take selfish penalties. The 6’1 205-pounder plays a very rough style for college hockey, where fighting is not allowed.
Future
Unlikely to be signed by the Aug. 15, 2008 deadline.
