History

2004-05: Played for the Chicago Steel of the USHL.  Clackson finished second in the USHL in 2004-05 with 270 PIMs. No other Chicago player finished in the top 20. He finished seventh on the Steel in scoring with 25 points (10 goals, 15 assists) in 56 games.

Clackson is the son of former NHL tough guy Kim Clackson. His younger brother Chris, 18, also plays for the Steel. 

Played his college hockey for Western Michigan.

2007-08: In his third year with Western Michigan University (CCHA), Clackson appeared in 35 games with the club. He scored a goal in a 3-1 WMU win over Bentley on Oct. 20. He missed two games due to an injury sustained at Bowling Green on Nov. 3. He scored the game-winner in a 4-3 win over Ferris State on Jan. 25. He tallied three goals and three assists with WMU this season. Following the conclusion of the season with WMU, he made his professional debut with the Philadelphia Phantoms (AHL) on Apr. 12 vs. Hershey. He compiled 14 PIM in his Phantoms debut, including a major for fighting Jason Morgan and Ryan Flinn.

 

 

Talent Analysis

When it comes to physical play and dropping the gloves, few players in the league are more feared and respected than the burly Pittsburgh native.  An aggressive forward. Clackson is tough, but does not possess any standout skills.
