History

2008-09: With 34 goals and 43 assists in 56 games for Indiana of the USHL, Cichy showed he could put the puck in the net.  Leading scorer in the playoffs.

2009-10: A rookie season with North Dakota would prove challenging for the young center. Appearing in 23 games with a talented team, Cichy would add 2 goals and 4 points.

2010-11: In his sophomore season, Cichy played a supplementary role in a North Dakota lineup dominated by upperclassmen. He appeared in 25 of the Fighting Sioux' 44 games and scored 3 goals with 4 assists with a -6 plus/minus and 6 PMs. Cichy played his final game for the Fighting Sioux in the regular season finale, an 11-2 win over Michigan Tech. He did not play in the post-season as North Dakota captured the WCHA and NCAA Midwest Regional titles before falling to Michigan in the Frozen Four semifinals. Cichy transferred to Western Michigan following the season.

Talent Analysis

Cichy's strongest asset is his hockey sense. After two years of NCAA eligibility, questions linger about Cichy's skating ability. He does not possess much size at 5'11 190 pounds.

Future

Unable to claim a regular spot in the UND lineup, Cichy has transfered to Western Michigan University. He will not play during the 2011-12 season due to NCAA rules, but will ultimately be in a position for more playing time.
