History
A surprise first round draft pick by the Sharks out of St. Sebastien's Prep School, Morris rewarded the Sharks with a decent collegiate rookie season for Northeastern University. Although Morris missed eight games in January and early February due to a concussion suffered in practice, the right winger still managed to finish third in Northeastern scoring with nine goals and 12 assists in 26 games. Despite being on perhaps the weakest team in the Hockey East Association, Morris was named to the Hockey east All-Rookie Team, largely because Morris became a leader for the team during his freshman season, sometimes manning the point on the power play.
Talent Analysis
Morris' main strength is that, besides needing to fill out more, the Boston-area native has no major weaknesses. With good speed and good skating skills, mixed with advanced awareness for a player his age. Appears likely to be Northeastern's next leader as Mike Ryan graduates.
Future
Long-term, Morris' NHL future seems to be as a second or third line right wing who chips in offense but is also solid in his own zone as well.
