History
Oystrick had a breakout year with Northern Michigan in 2003-04 as a sophomore as he benefited from more ice time. The two-way defenseman had 8 goals, 28 assists, was +5 with 98 penalty minutes in 39 games. He made the CCHA Second Team All-Stars. He was second in team scoring and first among defensemen.
In 2002-03, he was fourth among Northern Michigan defensemen, was fifth among the team’s freshmen and seventh among the club’s underclassmen in scoring.

Attended first prospect camp in 2004.
Signed to an NHL contract in 2006 and assigned to the Chicago Wolves. In December 2006, Oystrick talked about how it was going having turned pro.
2006-07: Had a very good offensive year as a rookie with the Wolves, making the All-Rookie team.
Talent Analysis
Strengths: Oystrick is an offensive-minded defenseman. He's a good skater, passer, pinches on offense and is comfortable carrying the puck. Oystrick hits well and will fight if necessary. Good slapshot, and good puck movement.
Weaknesses: At 5'11, he's not tall, but he's solid. Skating and decision-making could possibly hold him back. Mental game can be vastly improved.
