History
2007-08: D’Agostino posted respectable numbers for St. Michaels of the OPJHL where he finished 13th on his team in scoring and appeared in 46 games. The 6’3 defenseman played on the power play, penalty kill, and in five-on-five situations for St. Michaels of the Ontario Provincial Junior A Hockey League.
2008-09: In his final season of OJHL play, he played in all situations, in the process managing 9 goals, 24 assists, and 34 penalty minutes in 43 games.
2009-10: As a freshman with Cornell, D'Agostino posted 4 goals and 14 assissts in 32 games, playing mostly as a 4th or 5th defenseman.
2010-11: D'Agostino saw his ice time climb in his sophomore season as well as a byproduct his statistics. He was more active in the offensive zone, and manned the point at times on the powerplay. In 32 games he managed 7 goals and 10 assists.
Talent Analysis
D’Agostino is a puck-moving defenseman with a long reach and accurate poke-check. The left-handed defender has a hard slap shot that consistently makes contact with the net. His defensive positioning is sound and he is an active defender that is good at picking angles and removing passing lanes.
He is considered a very cerebral player who should develop into a solid two-way defenseman.
