Aube-Kubel was Canada Quebec’s leading scorer with 4 goals, 4 assists and 2 penalty minutes in six games at the WHC.

2013-14: Aube-Kubel participated in Hockey Canada’s U18 camp before returning to Val-d’Or for his second season. Skating for a Memorial Cup-bound Foreurs squad that featured QMJHL leading scorer Anthony Mantha (DET), he scored 22 goals with 31 assists and was minus-1 with 61 penalty minutes in 65 games. Val-d’Or finished first in the West Division and knocked off East Division champion Baie-Comeau in the QMJHL finals. Aube-Kubel scored 4 goals with 9 assists and was plus-10 with 20 penalty minutes in 24 playoff games. He had no points with an even plus/minus and 2 penalty minutes in four Memorial Cup games. 2014-15: Aube-Kubel attended his first NHL training camp and signed a three-year entry-level contract with Philadelphia in October 2014 before returning to Val-d’Or for his second QMJHL season. He was an assistant captain for the Foreurs and was the team’s third-leading scorer. He scored 38 goals with 42 assists, trailing only Anthony Richard and Anthony Beuregard, and was +13 with 81 penalty minutes in 61 regular season games. Talent Analysis

With great wheels and a motor that doesn't quit, Aube-Kubel's hard-working and high-energy style of play makes him a versatile addition to any lineup. Whether it is driving the net to create scoring chances or back-checking to prevent them, Aube-Kubel fits the blueprint of a player who can slot into many roles and situations at the next level. With his offensive talents still blossoming, it is hard to say what sort of player he will finally develop into, but he is sure to be the type of player that coaches love.

Future

Aube-Kubel made his pro debut with the AHL's Lehigh Valley Phantoms in April 2016 following his third junior season with Val-d'Or in 2015-16. A consistent scorer who plays the game with an edge, he will likely skate for the Phantoms in his first pro season in 2016-17. Long-term he projects as a two-way second or third line winger who fits the traditional mold of a Flyers' forward.
