History

2013-14: Olli Juolevi competed in the Jokerit organization in Finland, spending time with the U16, U18, and U20 squads. He spent most of his time with the U18 team, scoring 7 goals and 22 assists for 29 points in 33 games while posting 63 penalty minutes. In 12 playoff games for the U18 club, Juolevi scored 1 goal and added 8 assists for 9 points. In 11 games for the U20 team, Juolevi scored 1 goal and added 3 assists.

2014-15: Juolevi spent the season with Jokerit’s U20 team. In 44 games for that team, he scored 6 goals and added 26 assists for 32 points. He also played in 5 playoff games for the U20 club, scoring 1 goal and adding 2 assists for 3 points. Juolevi competed in international play for Finland as a member of that country’s 2014 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament team. Juolevi picked up 1 assist in 4 games at that tournament. Juolevi was chosen in the first round, 45th overall, of the 2015 CHL Import Draft by the London Knights.

2015-16: Juolevi moved to North America to compete for the London Knights of the OHL. Juolevi competed internationally for Finland at the 2016 IIHF World Junior Championship where he posted 9 assists in 7 games for the gold medal-winning Finns. Juolevi also played for Team Orr at the 2016 BMO CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game where he was +1 for the winning side. Juolevi and the Knights went on to win the OHL championship, then the Memorial Cup championship to finish out a dominating CHL season. Juloevi was ranked 5th among North American skaters by NHL Central Scouting in their midterm rankings for the 2016 NHL Draft. He was ranked 12th overall by ISS Hockey in their March rankings. Juolevi was chosen in the first round, fifth overall, of the 2016 NHL Draft by the Vancouver Canucks.

Change has come to ISS Hockey’s February rankings for the 2016 NHL Draft, but not within the Top 10 or much of the Top 30, for that matter.
