Oskari Korpikari

Profile Contributed By: Pekka Lampinen

History

Korpikari made an SM-Liiga appearance as U19 and continued on the same path from that moment on.

Korpikari has been a part of both Karpat championship teams in 2004 and 2005. He has played for his hometown team for the last four years after seasoning in the junior leagues. His best asset has been his strong defensive play and his determination to deliver big hits. He is not overly creative with the puck, scoring his first career goal in 2005-06, but he can keep up the pace and take part in every situation.

Talent Analysis

Plays a safe stay at home game, protects the puck well, and makes good outlet passes.

Future

He doesn't make any compromises in his ability to defend the net, and that kind of game gives him the chance to become an NHL regular one day. An unspectacular late bloomer.

He projects as a very good stay-at-home defenseman.
