History
2006-07: The Belleville (OHL) defenseman netted 15 goals and 56 points in 68 games during his second season as a Bull. His 89 penalty minutes was a career-high.
2007-08: His third season with the Bulls (OHL) resulted in eight goals and 46 points in 58 games. He also racked up a career-high 100 penalty minutes. He excelled in the playoffs, netting eight goals and 23 points in 21 games. He competed with the Canadian National U20 squad, but failed to register any points in seven games at the WJC.
2008-09: This marked Subban’s fourth and final season with Belleville (OHL), a 56 games campaign that resulted in 14 goals and 76 points. His 94 penalty minutes were his second highest to date. He was nominated to the OHL All-Star Team for the first time in his career. He also competed with Team Canada at the WJC for the second straight year, netting three goals and nine points in six games. On top of winning the Gold, he made the tournament All-Star Team and won the Most Points by Defenseman Award; Coaches voted him as a Top 3 Player on the Team.
Talent Analysis
The young blueliner's offensive abilities are well documented, but to progress within the organization's ranks he needs to continue to refine his play within his own end. Last season he showed a willingness to improve in that regard and he has all the tools to be a solid contributor to the club's organization.
