Pierce Norton

Prospect Grade: 5.0 D  (About Prospect Grades)

History

Toronto's last selection in the 2004 draft, Norton was a year older then most 2004 draftees (19). He attends Providence College. Attended Thayer Academy prep school, which counts Jeremy Roenick and Tony Amonte as a few of their notable alumnus.

He notched his first collegiate goal on January 6th, 2006 in the Friars 5-1 win over Boston University.

Talent Analysis

Norton is a competitive, tough power forward with good hands who seems to have a scoring touch. As with all young players, Norton needs to work on his skating and footwork before making the jump to the pro level. Norton had never been tested at a high level of competition before Providence.

Future

Norton is a long-range commodity for the Maple Leafs.
