Talent Analysis
Boyd is a tall, slender defenseman who skates well with the puck and likes to jump into the attack. He is a project player whose most compelling asset is that he is a Florida-born player in the Panthers system.
Future
His transfer away from the NCAA to the USHL bought him some ice time, but he has yet to take full advantage of the boost. He has a long way to go to make it to the NHL, and at this point must be considered a marginal prospect at best.
