History
The younger brother of the Thrashers’ Colby Armstrong.
2007-08: Armstrong appeared in 64 games with the Worcester Sharks (AHL), recording 34 points (15 goals, 19 assists) and 91 PIM. He had a Sharks’ season-high nine shots in a 2-1 win vs. Lowell on Oct. 20. He recorded a season-high 17 penalty minutes and an assists on Nov. 17 vs. Portland. He missed six straight games (12-22 – 1/2) with an injury, and missed nine more (3/22 – 4/9) near the end of the season. He shaved his head at center ice after the Apr. 6 game vs. Springfield as part of his Locks of Love campaign.
2008-09: Armstrong had his most productive season in 2008-09 in terms of points, with 42. The difference was his ability to finish on scoring opportunities. He scored 25 goals and 17 assists in 71 games. He got a taste of the NHL this year, only sticking around to skate in two games.
