Hockey's Future's January 2010 feature on Sheahan.
2010-11: Sheahan struggled a bit offensively during his sophomore season for Notre Dame. Through 40 games, he put up 5 goals and 17 assists for 22 points. In lieu of his below average numbers, Sheahan still managed to play a strong season defensively. He nearly made Canada’s WJC squad, being one of the very last cuts made by the team.
Talent Analysis
Sheahan has all the skills necessary to be a power forward type player. He possesses excellent shooting and playmaking ability. His large frame allows him to hold onto the puck for extended periods of time. Is an all-around excellent prospect, showing himself to be more than capable of playing defensive hockey as well.
Future
Projects as a first or second line power forward. Has the ability and size to play any role, which makes him a very likely candidate to play in the NHL one day. Sheahan will spend his junior year as a member of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
