History

2010-11: Ryan Pulock skated in 63 games for Brandon in his first WHL season and played for Canada Western in the 2011 U17 World Hockey Challenge. A product of the Parkland Rangers midget program in Manitoba, he scored 8 goals with 34 assists and was plus-two with 4 penalty minutes. Brandon finished third in the East Division and Pulock skated in all six game playoff games against Medicine Hat; scoring 2 goals with 4 assists and finishing minus-two with 2 penalty minutes. In five games for Canada Western he scored 1 goal and had 2 penalty minutes.

2011-12: Pulock was the WHL's third-leading scorer amongst defensemen in his second season with the Wheat Kings and represented Canada in the 2012 U18 World Junior Championship. He scored 19 goals with 41 assists and was plus-33 with 20 penalty minutes in 71 games. Brandon finished second in the East Division and reached the second round in the playoffs. Pulock scored 3 goals with 2 assists and was plus-one in nine playoff games. He scored 1 goal with 1 assist and was minus-three in six games at the U18 WJC as Canada won a bronze medal.

2012-13: Pulock battled through a difficult year with the Wheat Kings, finishing as the team's second-leading scorer despite missing 11 games due to injury and playing part of the season with a cast on his wrist. The injury forced him to miss the CHL Top Prospects game in January. In 61 games for Brandon he scored 14 goals with 31 assists and was minus-seven with 22 penalty minutes. The Wheat Kings missed the WHL playoffs; finishing last in the East Division. Pulock was ranked sixth amongst North American skaters in Central Scouting's mid-term rankings prior to the 2013 NHL Draft, and twelfth in the CSS final rankings.

Talent Analysis

Probably the top offensively skilled defenseman among 2013 draft-eligibles from the WHL. Quick release and ability to get shots through to the net. Has battled injuries over the past two seasons.
