After a promising start to his collegiate career, McCulloch suffered a season-ending shoulder injury in late November. He played in just eleven games prior to the injury, racking up seven points (four goals, three assists). His best performance came back on November 19th versus Michigan Tech, where he notched his first career hat-trick in helping to lead the Tigers to a 6-1 win.
2007-08: McCulloch played his final season at ColoradoCollege, tallying 21 points in 37 games. Not only did McCulloch tie for the team lead with five game-winning goals, but he also had five power play goals, which tied for second on the team. He recorded his third career hat trick in a 5-3 home-ice victory over St. CloudState. McCulloch was a recipient of the WCHA Scholar Athlete Award and was also named to the All-Academic Team for the third consecutive year
McCulloch is power forward who is outstanding around the net. He has good size with decent upper body strength. He is tenacious and doesn’t shy away from the physical aspects of the game. McCulloch is a strong skater who has excellent foot speed. He possesses a long reach that he uses quite well to his advantage. He drives to the net hard and often and is willing to pay the price to make the play in front of it. McCulloch possesses a quick shot. His outstanding puck skills and good vision allows him to set-up his teammates as well as create good scoring opportunities for himself. McCulloch also possesses a great work ethic.
McCulloch has yet to be signed by Chicago so his future is uncertain.
