History
2007-08: In his initial OHL season, Scott Stajcer appeared in just 6 regular season games for the Owen Sound Attack. He compiled a 1-3-0-1 record in those games, posting a 4.32 goals-against average and a .874 save percentage.
2008-09: Stajcer appeared in 35 games with the OHL's Owen Sound Attack as a rookie after appearing in six games for the team the prior season. Stajcer split time with Dallas prospect Tyler Beskorowany (DAL) as the Attack finished fourth in the Midwest Division. He finished with a record of 15-20 with five losses coming in overtime and had a 3.57 GAA with a .906 save percentage. Stajcer appeared in all four playoff games as the Attack proved to be no match for Memorial Cup-bound Windsor and was 0-3 with a 5.70 GAA and .905 save percentage. Stajcer was named to the OHL Second All-Rookie Team and was ranked fifth amongst North American goalies in Central Scouting's final rankings. He was selected by the Rangers in the fifth round (140th overall) of the 2009 NHL Draft.
2009-10: Stajcer took over as the main starter for Owen Sound after Beskorowany was traded to Kingston. While at times he showed flashes of brilliance, he was unable to put together much consistency as the Attack slipped to last in the Midwest Division and missed the OHL playoffs. In 55 games, he was 21-23 with six losses in overtime and had his first career shutout. Stajcer finished with a 3.67 GAA and .897 save percentage.
2010-11: Stajcer got off to a great start in his third season with Owen Sound before suffering a hip injury in November that required surgery. Stajcer was 10-3 with one shutout and a 2.91 GAA and .901 save percentage for the much-improved Attack before getting hurt. Stajcer returned for the playoffs as part of an unlikely goaltending trio with Michael Zador (TB) and Jordan Binnington (STL) as Owen Sound won the OHL championship. Stajcer appeared in 13 playoff games and was 8-4 with a 2.79 GAA and .909 save percentage. Stajcer appeared in one game at the Memorial Cup tournament and allowed 6 goals on 31 shots in a 7-3 loss to Kootenay. Stajcer signed an entry-level contract with the Rangers in May 2011.
2011-12: Stajcer returned to juniors for an overage season – once again splitting the goaltending duties for the Owen Sound Attack with Blues' prospect Jordan Binnington. In 28 games he was 10-11-6 with 1 shutout and had a 2.96 goals against and .910 save percentage. He played three of five games in the first round playoff series with Kitchener and was 1-2 with a 3.91 goals against and .875 save percentage.
Talent Analysis
Stajcer has the size to be an NHL netminder, however, he needs to develop consistency and control rebounds better to make that dream a reality.
